Using SMS to Earn Reviews
Google Reviews are important for many reasons. They are a trusted resource that give potential customers insight into what a service, product or experience is like. They also influence search engine results. The more often your business is mentioned online, the higher your business will rank bringing it to the top of search engine results (SERP).
We’ve all been there, when you have a poor experience at an establishment, often times your first action is to leave a bad review. Unfortunately, when people have a great experience, they often don’t go out of their way to leave a positive review as quickly, if at all.
Our client was looking for support to increase the number of reviews their business was getting with two goals, reducing the barriers to posting a review and keeping it a low-cost. We partnered with Twilio to meet our client’s expectations and because it integrated with our clients CRM platform making the customizability of this campaign seamless.
Twilio was coded to pull customer visits daily and send an SMS to customers 24 hours post visit asking them to leave a review about their experience. The message contained a direct link to the Google Review page based on the specific location they visited. We reduced the customer process from 5+ clicks, down to 2 clicks total and it is completed automated.
Before this marketing automation tool launched, our client was receiving an average of 15 reviews per week. Two weeks after the launch of Twilio our client received 62 reviews in one week with 87% of them being 5-star reviews. This great increase in review traffic has supported our client’s business with elevating their Google ranking as well as improving the guest sentiment on their reviews page.
